Heartbroken girlfriend pays tribute to ‘love of her life’ after woman dies in horror crash

Police have launched an investigation after Brooke Russell, 20, died in a car accident in Scotland on December 23 when their Vauxhall left the road

The girlfriend of a woman killed in a car crash on December 23 says she has been ‘destroyed’ by the loss of the love of her life.

Taylor McMillan and Brooke Russell’s Vauxhall Adam car left the road near a bridge over a canal in Scotland around 8.50pm on December 23.

Brooke, 20 suffered serious injuries and died the next day, on Christmas Eve, while her partner survived, reports the Daily Record.

Taylor, 21, wrote on social media: “I cannot come to terms with what’s happened yet.

“Three years we had been together but felt like an entire lifetime. Because Brooke was that sort of person that would have that effect.

“We met young and we had planned to last old. “She was my best friend. My girlfriend. My future.”

She added the pair had planned to “experience the world together” in 2022.

Taylor added: “We had a path in place to experience so, so much in the following year as a couple.

“We’d go places, we’d experience the world together. Hand in hand. We truly were a team. And she was truly the love of my life.

“And it utterly destroys me that she was taken from me. I keep telling myself that it’s not real and that we’re gonna wake up right beside each other. My heart is broken.”

Brooke’s friends praised her as “one of a kind”.
